Building a brand for a house that cooks with the seasons
Kockska Huset is one of the oldest buildings in Malmö, with walls that reach back to the 1500s. Inside it, Årstiderna has built something rare: a restaurant whose whole idea turns with the year. Seasonal cooking, a menu shaped by what's good right now, a kitchen that treats every season as a fresh start. It's an address Malmö knows well — a table worth booking, a reputation earned one season at a time, and a clear sense of the experience it wants every guest to walk away with.
Now that experience is growing. The restaurant is opening up new spaces and introducing new elements into the house — fresh reasons to come through the door, a bigger evening taking shape inside the same historic walls. Our work gave that next chapter an identity to carry it. We shaped the kh monogram, the wordmark, the oxblood colour identity and the brand guidelines that hold it all together, then carried the system across the things guests actually touch — signage, menus, packaging and the smallest printed details. As new rooms join the house, the brand is what lets one ambitious change read as a single, confident story. Everything was designed to carry one idea forward: that Kockska Huset is a place where five centuries of history and a clear sense of what's next sit comfortably at the same table.

Brand identity, Naming, Brand guidelines, Creative direction
Every brand needs a detail that could only belong to it. For Kockska Huset, that detail lives in the building itself. The house is braced by heavy timber beams that have held it up for centuries, and it was those beams — their angles, their joins, the way they cross and brace — that gave us the K. The kh monogram is drawn straight from that structure, turning the bones of a 16th-century landmark into a mark that reads as confidently on a screen as it does on a door. It's a piece of the building you can carry anywhere: across a menu, a sign, a window, a plate. The identity doesn't sit on top of the house. It comes from it.
