Built to be trusted with harder work.
We want to work in regulated spaces, with medical device companies, public bodies and larger businesses, and we want to be the kind of company worth working for. Both of those are earned through standards you can check, not claims you have to take on faith. This page is where we are honest about where we stand.
Certifications we are working toward.
None of these are achieved or underway yet. They are the standards we intend to meet, in this order, and we will update the status here as each one starts.
ISO 9001, quality management
How we scope, build, test and hand over, written down and audited, so a client in a regulated sector can rely on the process and not just the people.
ISO 27001, information security
We hold client data, images and system access. This is the standard for keeping it safe: controls, access, incident handling, and proof that we follow them.
ISO 13485, medical device quality
For the Labs' work with medical device manufacturers: inspection systems, traceability, regulated ERP. The standard that lets our software sit inside their quality system.
Aiming for B Corp certification.
B Corp measures a company's whole impact: governance, workers, community, environment, customers. We are measuring ourselves against it now, with the SDG Action Manager, and will apply when the score is honest enough to submit.
Baseline
Complete the SDG Action Manager assessment and the first B Impact Assessment, as a sole trader with a small team.
Close the gaps
Written policies where we had habits: supplier code, pay transparency, data handling, energy and travel.
Report
Publish a first voluntary sustainability statement using the VSME standard, so the numbers are in a format others can read.
Certify
Submit for B Corp certification once the assessment clears the threshold, and keep the score public either way.
Two frameworks, both public.
SDG Action Manager
A free assessment from B Lab and the UN Global Compact that maps a company's practices to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We use it to see where a small studio actually makes a difference and where it is just noise.
About the SDG Action Manager →VSME, the EU voluntary standard for SMEs
The European sustainability reporting standard written for small and medium companies, so that what we report to a larger client or a bank is in the same language they use. We will publish our first VSME statement for the 2026 financial year.
About VSME →Small, but real.
- No office, by choice: no commute, no empty desks, a near-zero building footprint.
- Clients own their work: configuration, code, images and trained models are handed over, never held hostage.
- Standard, repairable parts in everything the Labs builds, with local fabrication wherever a frame can be welded nearby.
- Photography and film made in house, in the real place, rather than flown in or bought as stock.
- Fixed scopes and written terms, so clients and contractors know what they are owed and when.
